"After serving on the mission field my wife, Carol, and I relocated to Holland, MI, where I found myself close to two seminaries of the Reformed Church in America. I enrolled at Western Theological Seminary and eventually began my career in the ordained ministry at Second Reformed Church in Wyckoff, N.J.  

To say a life in ministry has been an adventure is putting it mildly.  I have been humbled time and again at what has been expected of me.  My latest adventure is working to get the new Sycamore Community Church on firm footing preparing it to share the joy of new life in Christ to a new generation."

Vice President

"With the merger of Upper Ridgewood and Ho-Ho-Kus Community Churches, we have an extraordinary opportunity to form a vibrant, strong, and sustainable church.  As Vice President of the governing body, I look forward to working with Pastor Richard, the Consistory, and the Congregation to establish the foundation of Sycamore Community Church."

Secretary

"I was secretary at Upper Ridgewood Community Church (URCC) beginning in May 2018. I came onboard to CCHHK in 2024 when the merge of the churches took place. As secretary, I get to use my skills and talents to serve the Lord."

Tech Director

"I served as music director at CCHHK from 2014-2023. During COVID I helped create an online worship service. Once RCC merged with CCHHK in 2024, I transitioned to the role of tech director and also became a member of the church. I’m excited to be a part of Sycamore Community Church and to help ensure  our church has a vibrant online presence for the foreseeable future."
