Communion
The sacrament of communion is a sacred rite typically observed on the first Sunday of each month. It unites us with the Lord Jesus Christ and the greater body of believers making us mindful of the communion of saints. It’s a meal of remembrance, of communion, and of hope. This practice not only strengthens our spiritual bonds but also deepens our commitment to living out the teachings of Jesus in our daily lives.
Prayer
Prayer during our worship service is vital as it fosters a deep, personal connection with God and invites His presence into our communal worship. It serves as a foundation for reflection, guidance, and the collective spiritual growth of our congregation.
Music
Church music, led by our dedicated organist, music director, and choir, plays a crucial role in enhancing the worship experience each Sunday, fostering a sense of community and spiritual connection. The harmonious performances not only uplift the congregation but also deepen the reflection and reverence of our weekly services.
Sermon
The sermon is a pivotal element of our worship service, offering insightful interpretation of scripture that guides and challenges us in our faith journey. It serves to inspire and equip the congregation with practical wisdom and spiritual encouragement for living out their beliefs in everyday life.
Sunday School
We take pride in having our children learn about the life of Jesus. Our Sunday school program meets on the 2nd Sunday of the month during worship. We utilize the Children and Worship curriculum, which brings biblical stories to life in a way that encourages children to explore and engage with the narrative. Developed with the expertise of Western Theological Seminary professor Sonya Steward, this approach invites kids to wonder about the stories unfolding before them. For more details on how this enriching curriculum enhances our Sunday school experience, visit the Children and Worship website.
